As we deepen our roots in Boston, Encore Boston Harbor is committed to giving time, funding and energy where it helps the most—at home.
Our commitment starts with a pledge to improve the communities where we live and work and to be responsible corporate citizens. Encore Boston Harbor will pay $574 million over 15 years to our host and surrounding communities, which translates to $485 million for Everett, $32 million for Boston and $57 million to be shared between Malden, Medford, Somerville, Chelsea and Cambridge.
We are also making a difference in the lives of others by donating more than $10 million over the next four years to local civic organizations. To maximize impact and reach, we are teaming with local philanthropic leader Jack Connors and the Connors Family to identify charities that need assistance and to handle the allocation of funds. That work already has begun, including funding a unique partnership between the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Boston Public Library that will bring a major exhibit by renowned French painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec to the museum. Other outreach includes partnering with Scholar Athletes to open a learning center for at-risk students at Everett High School and helping the New England Center for Arts and Technology create a program that trains underemployed adults for a career in the culinary field.
